Welcome to my website. I am a photographer specializing in weddings, portraits and commercial photography. My new studio and gallery is located in Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan.

I have been studying or working in photography for over 15 years. I graduated with a Diploma in Photography from DIT School of Photography in '99, and then spent 6 years learning the trade as an assistant photographer in Dublin. I spent a further year working as a photographer on cruise ships in Europe, Brazil and the Caribbean. I started my own business in Dublin in 2006.

A lot has changed in photography in this time, especially with the advent of digital photography. I learned photography by shooting on film, which I think was a great way to learn. Now I photograph almost everything digitally, using my Canon 5D Mark2, a super camera, the best I have ever had (though sometimes I miss shooting slide film on my old Olympus OM10s!).

Opening my first studio, which will also be my office and a gallery space, has been a new challenge for me. I enjoy working with people and this studio gives me the opportunity to take more portraits, as well as being a base from which to expand my wedding photography business. For me, the challenge and variety of commercial photography is something I enjoy- photographing everything from products to buildings, people or animals for advertisements, websites and brochures.

Over the past few years I have worked on a number of photojournalism projects in Africa and elsewhere. I hope to host 3 or 4 different exhibitions here every year, either my own projects or work by guest artists or photographers.
