Since 2008 I have worked on a number of photography assignments overseas- in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Every country seems to have it's problems in it's past and present, and it's always interesting to see how the people respond to disaster, and to meet some of the strong individuals who fight for change, equality and a better life.
I've been lucky enough to have seen some work that non-government organizations (NGOs) such as Trócaire, Concern Worldwide and MSF do on the ground in some of the poorest parts of the globe. It is grounding to see how some of the poorest and most oppressed people in the world live, and encouraging seeing the spirit of these people in the face of adversity.
The Simon Cumbers Media Fund funded projects in Chad, Palestine & Nepal, and I traveled to Thailand, Rwanda, Kenya and Mozambique with Trócaire to help highlight the work they do there.
